Grant-making with a difference

Gilly's is a family-founded grant-making organisation, named in memory of our lovely mum, supporting small charities that make a big difference.

All the charities we support are working to improve the lives of disadvantaged children, young people, families and adults, but they do this in their own unique way. You can read more about our most recent grantees here.

Our approach is to identify amazing organisations that aren't necessarily well-known but are shining examples of small charities that are well-managed, committed to providing the best service they can and are successful because they do things just that little bit differently.

But they aren't the only ones - we like to do things a little bit differently too!

We make the most of being a small trust and this is key to the success of our own personalised style of grant-making. Our support isn't just a financial contribution, it's a commitment from us to learn more about what each charity does and what's needed to move forward and then use this knowledge to identify other ways we can lend a hand. This could be anything from using our existing networks to help expand their services into other areas of the country to putting them in touch with someone who can provide more specialised support.

Making a significant donation to a small charity can make a real difference to the development, quality and longevity of the support an organisation is able to offer to their beneficiaries. However, deciding on which charity to support so that your donation will have a big impact on a cause you are passionate about isn't always straightforward.

Our personalised philanthropy solution helps donors identify a suitable charity (by sharing our oversight of small charities in the UK and in-depth knowledge of those we have supported through our grants programme) and then manages the donation so that their chosen charity also benefits from the additional added-value support that Gilly's offers.
